Launched exclusively for PlayStation 5, Returnal seems to be well-liked, both in review scores and in feedback from gamers. One thing players often complain about in rogue-like is that they don’t have the option to record the game. However, the fact that the game is challenging due to its type and uses risk-reward dynamics does not allow recording. For players who complain about this feature, which is not inherent in the game, the developer says there is nothing to announce.
Returnal game recording will not be added for now
Developer Housemarque has accepted complaints about the lack of registration option in Returnal. The inherent nature of the game was met with a backlash from some players for not having the mechanics to record it. Due to the long duration of game sessions, some players complain that there is no way to stop and record the PS5 console except to keep it in sleep mode.
In a popular Reddit post, people said:
“While I understand that save/install will kill the rogue-like character of the game, some people can’t play without these features! My first round lasted about 2 hours and took me straight to my second bioma. It was 3:00 a.m. when I got my new bio and I wanted to sleep because I had to work the next day.”
“I always turn off my consoles because I don’t know when to play next time. The thing is, when I had a fantastic weapon, full health, a nice parasite and some good works, I had to kill myself at the beginning of my second biome.”
The thread, which received more than 700 comments at the time of publication, advises the developer to add an autosave system that was deleted at the time of death. On Friday, Housemarque wroteon Reddit of the caption : “We hear about the community and love you all. Now there is nothing to announce, but keep playing and enjoying the challenge as much as possible!”
“Returnal is an action game that combines roguelike and metroidvania genres and uses elements of fear as spices. When we combined so many different species, we managed to keep the aspects that they all succeeded in despite some shortcomings.” Did you guys feel such a lack of play?
