Rockstar Games has apologised for technical issues arising as a result of the release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. It also announced plans for a new update addressing the issues.
Rockstar Games reported on its new plans:
We apologize for any unexpected technical issues that occurred in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. The Grand Theft Auto series and the games that make up this iconic trilogy are as special to us as fans around the world. Updated versions of these classic games have not been released in a situation that meets our own quality standards and the standards our fans expect. We have new plans to solve technical issues and improve every game going forward. With each planned update, the games will reach the quality they deserve.
A new update is on the way for all versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, addressing a number of issues in the coming days. We’ll let everyone know as soon as it’s published.
Meanwhile, reports have emerged of people on development teams being harassed on social media. We’re deeply saddened to hear that. We hope that our community will be understanding and respectful when working on these issues.
We’ll soon add PC versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to the Rockstar Store as a package.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. iOS and Android versions will debut in early 2022.
