Grand Theft Auto (GTA), the famous series of the Rockstar team, continues to be played today as a production that is appreciated and loved by players all over the world. Rockstar announced last year that it would release remaster versions of the trilogy to revive the GTA series. In 2021, remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas were released for many platforms. Unfortunately, these remaster versions could not give the desired one.
While the idea of remastering the old Grand Theft Auto games was a good idea on paper, these remaster releases contained a lot of bugs. Rockstar apologized to players for these problematic versions and stated that they would raise the games to the expected level with new updates. The trilogy, which became the focus of criticism by the players, also influenced the next projects. Accordingly, it was reported that the remaster versions of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption were canceled.
The remaster versions of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption, which were never announced before but talked about within the team, were pushed into the background after the trilogy that debuted badly. In the end, it was stated that this project was abandoned.
As per a reliable source with clear accuracy on Rockstar plans, remasters of GTA IV & RDR1 were on the table a few years ago, but Rockstar chose not to proceed with the projects in mind.
The poor reception of the Trilogy DE might be a reason behind that decision. #GTAIV #RDR1
