Various rumors continue to emerge about the remake of Naughty Dog’s action-adventure story game The Last of Us. In April 2021, there was a report that a remake version for PlayStation 5 consoles was being worked on. This remake version is said to be released in the second half of 2022.
Journalist Jeff Grubb stated that he had heard from various sources that the remake of The Last of Us would be released in the second half of 2022.
Although it hasn’t been officially announced by Sony, news of the remake of The Last of Us first surfaced last year with a Bloomberg report by Jason Schreier. Naughty Dog co-chair Neil Druckmann said during Sony’s CES 2022 conference that he was eager to share all the games the team has made. It is reported that Remake will be among the games to be shared. It is rumored that the remake version will come to the PC platform other than PS5.
The Last of Us was first released in June 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and in July 2014 for the PlayStation 4. A sequel, The Last of Us Part II, was released for PlayStation 4 in June 2020.
