I follow the Comic-Con events with a different eye every year. It’s a lot of fun to look at what’s going on in the world of comics from afar. We would like to go and get two variant covers, have a comic book signed, but for now we will be satisfied with looking at it from a distance. This year’s San Diego Comic-Con didn’t actually have a very glorious start.
Marvel made announcements from the animation section in the first two days. DC got me pretty curious with the comics (I’ll talk about a few below), and of course those first two days were marked by the Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power trailer on Day 2. I think the real big bombs will explode tomorrow with the panel that will be made by Marvel Studios, at least not in cinema and series, or there are already a few good comics that I have caught my eye on. Let’s see what the San-Diego comic book show has to offer us in its first two days;
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Trailer
We have finally seen the first trailer from the Dungeons & Dragons movie, which Paramount has been preparing for quite some time. Many DnD lovers, including me, had serious doubts about the film we will watch under the name of Honor Among Thieves. At least in terms of trailer, a very entertaining film is waiting for us. I hope that the actors played a custom game on set with the characters they portrayed in the film. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will be released in 2023.
Netflix Gundam – Gundam: The Witch From Mercury; Release Date Announced

Netflix, which continues to expand its library with large and small content from every corner of the world, does not take its foot off the gas on the Japanese side. The studio, which is preparing to take a new look at Gundam, has managed to excite fans around the world with The Witch from Mercury. Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury will be released worldwide next October. The series will be on October 28 on various television channels in Japan and on Netflix outside Japan.

Amazon Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time didn’t quite get a stick in the circle with its first season, but Amazon still has high expectations from the series. Again at San Diego Comic-Con, there was plenty of Time Wheel news. The second season of the series is not yet out and the third season has already been officially confirmed. In addition, an animated series called The Wheel of Time: Origins will meet the audience through Amazon Prime.
Big Brother Keanu Get a Rest – John Wick: First Image from Chapter 4
Keanu Reeves, who has brought Neo, Johnny Silverhand, John Wick and many more characters to life, does not get old and does not get tired. While the veteran actor enchants his fans, he continues his new films without slowing down. Preparations for the fourth film of the John Wick series continue without slowing down. Okay, killing zombies isn’t as easy as it sounds. Again, okay, there can be a lot of drama in a zombie series as well. But it takes incredible patience to maintain that for eleven seasons. AMC is finally preparing to say goodbye to The Walking Dead. A special trailer called “Finish the Fight” was also unveiled for SDCC, which is preparing to make a satisfying finale with the season 11 episode 3. The Marvel Cinematic Universe got its biggest locomotive Spider-Man relatively late, but it has no intention of giving it up. Introduced to the universe thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy, Baby Groot was a favorite baby alien of many people before his arch-enemy Baby Yoda arrived. In the light of discussions such as “Which barber do elves shave at, what do dwarves eat for breakfast?”, we are now entering the counting period to watch Amazon’s big-budget Lord of the Rings series, which has made a very quiet start. A trailer that looked pretty good, as befits the glory of San Diego Comic-Con, also managed to fill fans with new controversy fuel. The images of Sauron from the series, which will start broadcasting on September 2, seem to be a completely different topic of discussion. I’ll be watching the chaos of “elf was human” with my popcorn as far away as possible from these discussions.
In the first two days of San Diego Comic-Con, especially in terms of movies and television (nice now almost entirely streaming services), these are the headlines that stand out. Of course, there may be much more hidden treasures for comic book lovers, but I can’t think of anything more gratifying than Clermont’s X-Men. Let’s see if the Marvel Cinematic Universe panel will surprise us all this time and officially announce the X-Men, or will we be in limbo again to watch the mutants live once.
