Portal and Portal 2 are often among the best games of all time, and this success can also be attributed to the author. Author Erik Wolpaw has worked on games like Artifact and Half Life: Alyx over time, but what he really wants to work on is Portal 3. He wants to get back in the series and make that wish come true before he gets any older.
Erik Wolpaw wants Portal 3 built
“We have to do Portal 3,” Wolpaw said in a statement. Let’s do everything we can now. I’m getting older and I can’t get any younger. Time passes, and I’m going to be too old to write Portal 3. Therefore, we must do it as soon as possible.”
Wolpaw said Portal fans should report their calls and requests to Gabe Newell. But he is aware that these requests will not help the game. However, if Newell and Valve need a game like that, there’s no harm in fans passing on their wishes.
It’s been 10 years since portal 2 was introduced, and for that reason Wolpaw thinks the series won’t continue. It’s not unheard of to have that time between sequels. In fact, there are games that remain on dusty shelves and come back to the market after more than 10 years. Sometimes these kinds of breaks can help the team rest and come up with new ideas. Wolpaw, who has no posted about the Portal 3 scenario, already seems better off keeping the idea of Searyo to himself in case he gets another chance to move on with the series.
