Ukrainian game developer Frogwares has announced its new game, Sherlock Holmes The Awakened. This name may be familiar to some of you, because we can say that this is a completely remade and rewritten remake of the 2006 game of the same name.
Developed under the code name Project Palianytsia, The Awakened will tell the story inspired by H.P. Lovecraft alongside young Sherlock Holmes.
The game will be funded through a Kickstarter campaign and will be released for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Switch. The first trailer of the game will be released with the start of the Kickstarter campaign.
In the game, Sherlock Holmes and John Watson will investigate four different locations and try to distinguish between reality and the supernatural.
Denys Chebotarov, one of the producers of Frogwares, answered the question “why The Awakened?”: “One day we wanted to make a remake version of this game, but the war forced us to do it now. Working on a game that already has a large part of its content and story ready has given us a more predictable and established development cycle. This is exactly what we need in this period of great uncertainty in our days.
Frogwares is trying to develop games under war conditions, so their choice is perfectly understandable.
