Shinji Mikami, founder of Tango Gameworks, says he wants his studio to develop smaller, horror-like games in the future.
Mikami, whose career has been full of horror games, said he still didn’t want people to associate his studio with one genre. Mikami also mentioned plans to make games other than horror, and expressed hope that Tango Gameworks could eventually change its image.
“Right now, we’re seen as a studio focused solely on survival-based horror play. Of course, it’s nice that fans think of us as a studio famous for developing survival-based horror games. But we also want to be seen as a studio that can create a wide range of games. We will come up with even more new games in the future, so keep supporting us”
Mikami ghostwire: Tokyo is not a horror game, but an arcade-style action adventure game.
Mikami also said that the new Tango game, directed by John Johanas, director of The Evil Within 2, is not a horror game.
Being known as a horror game studio isn’t really a bad thing, why is Mikami bothered by it?
