PlayStation 3 and PS Vita stores will remain open.
Sony Interactive Entertainment announced at the end of last month that its PlayStation 3 store will close on July 2 and the PS Vita store on August 27, after which users will never be able to purchase digital content again
A new announcement today announced that this decision has been abandoned. PlayStation 3 and PS Vita stores are not closing.
Sony Interactive Entertainment said that they initially made such a decision to focus on new platforms where games are played more, but they realized that this decision was wrong. The decision was abandoned when many users saw that they were incredibly passionate about continuing to buy games on PLAYStation 3 and PS Vita.
