Jade Raymond is a popular figure in the gaming world. We got to know him with the Assassin’s Creed series. Then he switched to EA Motive. He left and took over Stadia’s developer team. Last year, Google decided to deploy its game development teams, and founded Haven Studios with 20 others in that group.
Haven Studios’ first game was announced as a new IP funded by PlayStation. This indicated that there was already a close bond between Sony and the new studio. In the end, they decided to take this bond one step further; Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has announced the acquisition of Haven Studios.
SIE CEO Jim Ryan said: “We’re not going to let this happen. “Haven Studios, with an extraordinarily talented team, a new studio and our first game development studio in Canada, I would like to welcome them to the PlayStation family. They are working on an original AAA multiplayer game, and this will not only demonstrate the power of the PlayStation 5, but also contribute to the diversity of game cathods offered on PlayStation,” he says in a statement about the purchase.
I’m one of those people who takes a little distance from live-service games. But I still wonder what kind of game you’re going to play. Let’s see if Jade Raymond can come up with a game that ends a long-running unfortunate process and makes her talk about herself the way she used to.
