Sony Interactive Entertainment and Los Angeles-based studio Deviation Games have announced a partnership to develop “groundbreaking AAA games.” Deviation Games is a video-game company founded by Dave Anthony and Jason Blundell, who previously worked on the Call of Duty series at Treyarch.
Deviation Games CEO Dave Anthony’s post on the PlayStation Blog said: “Last year, we set out to build a new studio and hire talented people. We’ve come this far on the long journey. Today, we are excited to announce an important agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment to develop a brand new original IP.
When my partner Jason Blundell and I first met decades ago, we often dreamed of owning our own studio, playing games with our own team of like-minded developers, and building a community of enduring friendships. That dream came true today. We feel very lucky to have this incredible opportunity.”
