Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and Koei Tecmo studio Team NINJA have announced Rise of the Ronin, a new action role-playing game that will be released for PlayStation 5 in 2024.

Team NINJA is incredibly excited to introduce our action role-playing game, which will take you to the dawn of a new era in Japan and take you on an epic journey as a Ronin. We first started this project seven years ago. Since then, the development process has proceeded slowly and freely, like the spirit of a Ronin. We are delighted to finally bring this project to light. We are also grateful to have set out with PlayStation for supporting this project.

Rise of the Ronin is a war-oriented open-world action role-playing game set at a time of major change in Japan This period is based on the end of a 300-year-long Edo Era, commonly known as “Bakumatsu”. Set in the late 19th century, this play follows the civil war between the Tokugawa Shogunate and Anti-Shogunate groups.
