Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it will acquire esports platform Repeat.gg. Repeat.gg hosts various e-sports competitions. He also watches the performances of the actors. Repeat has hosted more than 100,000 tournaments with more than 2.3 million participants so far.
Steven Roberts, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s vice president of global competitive gaming, told GamesIndustry.biz: “At PlayStation, our goal for esports is to ensure competition at all levels.
Together with Repeat.gg talented team, we will work to enable players to participate in competitive gaming and expand the field of e-sports. This is just the beginning of our journey and we will be providing more details with our community in the future.”
Repeat.gg will continue to feature games outside the PlayStation ecosystem, including consoles, PC and mobile devices.
Sony Interactive Entertainment, on the other hand, is also the co-owner of the Evolution Championship Series fighting tournament. Tournaments are held regularly for various fighting games.
