The official PlayStation website recently removed Japan Studio from sony’s studios list, which includes Insomniac Games, Naughty Dog and more. Japan Studio has now been replaced by Team Asobi, according to the Internet Archive. Asobi is a team that was previously a division of Japan Studio and recently released the PS5 game Astro’s Playroom. It was recently established as a new full-fledged studio.
Sony recently confirmed the closure of SIE Japan Studio following the layoff of some staff at the studio and a change in organizational structure earlier this year. In this case, it’s not surprising that he’s taken off the list. SIE Japan Studio has become an integral part of Sony with highly rated games such as Ape Escape, Gravity Rush and Shadow of the Colossus.
