Adapting games to a movie or a television series is a bit regent. Because when you shorten a story that’s meant to be given to you in about 10 hours and reduce it to 2 hours, there are big gaps. Sony’s new favourite, Uncharted, had similar problems. Sony was satisfied with the film’s box office revenues, which received mixed reviews. There is no explanation yet for the future of the sequels to Uncharted, a game series at its core…
“Uncharted is now a new film brand for the company,” company CEO Tom Rotham confirmed after the film. The film, which is currently in release, has now generated around $140 million in box office revenue worldwide. There is no official Uncharted 2 announcement on the horizon yet, but it seems we will hear this news soon. Sony, which already has a great relationship with Tom Holland, does not leave the young actor easily.
The post-credits scenes in the film also ignited a potential sequel. Now with this announcement, the eyes are back on Sony. However, according to reports, it is not yet clear whether the film’s director, Ruben Fleischer, will return to the series. We also know that the studio wants to make a new Spider-Man trilogy led by Tom Holland. On top of that, the Uncharted trilogy could peak financially for the Sony/Tom partnership.
