There were reports last month that Sony plans to go to a new regulation on subscription systems, announcing a system to rival Game Pass earlier this year, and you’ll remember. A new move by Sony could be interpreted as a strengthening prospect.
Sony has an inactive subscription system in our country, you know, PlayStation Now. Subscriptions for this system can be made digitally or cards sold in electronics stores can be used. Now sony has made a move that signals a change in this subscription system; Messages have been sent to electronics stores in the UK saying they will cease selling these cards from next week.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier contributed to this news. In a report last month, he saidsony planned to merge the PlayStation Now and PS Plus systems and that the new system, codenamed Spartacus, was intended to be implemented in Spring 2022. This system will offer access to many old-new games in the catalog for a certain subscription fee, just like game pass. The difference from Game Pass is that 3 different subscription models will be valid.
This system is still not official. However, the removal of PlayStation Now cards from sale suggests that an announcement may come soon. Let’s see when the official announcement of the system is made.
