While the pandemic continues to seriously affect life, movie theaters dream of returning to the good old days. The Marvel Cinematic Universe, which we are accustomed to blockbusters, is undoubtedly the mainstay of theaters. Spider-Man, the lovely neighbor of our neighborhood, is back on the big screen after a two-and-a-half year hiatus and has proven what a great hero he is. About ten days into its release, No Way Home has broken the $1 billion threshold, setting a huge record.
This billion-dollar record means a lot. While a film has achieved this success for the first time since Covid, the situation is even more gratifying for Sony. Spider-Man: No Way Home became the highest-grossing film in Sony history. If you recall, the dispute between Disney and Sony in the past almost canceled this film, Sony was very happy to find the middle ground. There are fewer than 50 films in the history of cinema that have exceeded the billion-dollar threshold. No Way Home, which achieved this during the pandemic period, has once again demonstrated the power of comic book adaptations.

At this point, can Marvel find another movie that will exceed its own bar? It’s hard to predict, but given the excitement of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there seems to be potential. If our lives are truly normal and going to the movies is as routine as before, the MCU can continue to be a lifeline to the theaters with every movie.
