Although he left the recent Oscars empty-handed, Spider-Man: No Way Home managed to set the bar very high for the financial part of the business. No Way Home, the third film to cross the $800 million threshold at the local box office, is also moving confidently towards $2 billion internationally. Although the digital version of the film has been released, the fact that it is still available to watch in some theaters means that records can improve. However, with the advent of the digital version, a much larger record was set.
A week after it went on digital sale, No Way Home managed to break the industry record for selling over two million copies. The film’s star, Tom Holland, was desperate to win an Oscar, but on top of that development comes to mind that famous image that immediately wipes away tears with money. Probably when the film is released and it loses its excitement digitally, we’re going to have a very difficult set of records to break.
Due to the problem between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Sony, we almost couldn’t watch this movie. Now that I think about it, a much longer-term deal between the two seems quite possible. Let’s see if Tom Holland’s decision to step down will change after these records. To me, we’re probably going to see another trilogy starring Holland, and then maybe miles morales or a new stop at the door of infinite possibilities.
