Splitgate’s beta, a “combination of portal and Halo”,crashed due to density. An open beta process covering PC, Xbox and Playstation began on July 13 for the game, which is expected to release consoles on July 27 (tomorrow). In fact, the beta received such attention that the production company decided that extending the 1047 Games beta would not be enough and shut down the game’s servers!
Splitgate’s beta is closed due to density.
Production company 1047 Games released a statement on Twitter;
“We’ve decided to close the beta of the game tonight. He’s been trying to lift player intensity all day, and it hasn’t been a good experience for you players either. As a token of our satisfaction, we will give 5 free items to anyone who has ever played the beta. Stand by for notes on the morning of July 22nd.”
Although the game’s beta has been reopened, player capacity issues have not yet been fully resolved. 1047 Games said in a statement that they spent the night optimizing the game, but when they spoke to Amazon Web Services, the server provider, they learned that it could withstand up to 65,536 players. The game collapsed on the night the game crashed, the company said, adding that they would work on a queue system that would remove 65,000 players at the same time, but did not know when the player restriction would be lifted.
