Square Enix has opened a new studio in London focused on developing free-to-play mobile games.
The new branch is run by studio president Ed Perkins, who was previously director of mobile publishing at Square Enix.
The studio is working on two games based on Tomb Raider Reloaded and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Previously announced Tomb Raider Reloaded is an action and puzzle game. The game was developed in partnership with Crystal Dynamics, which manages console games. In addition, it will be released on iOS and Android in 2022.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is being developed in partnership with Navigator Games, a Vancouver-based developer.
