Square Enix has adopted a new pricing policy for its upcoming PC games; It seems that we don’t expect very good days.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which will be available on the Epic Games Store in a few days, and Forspoken, which will meet gamers on May 24, 2022, are available for pre-order. Looking at overseas prices, it seems that the standard versions have a label of 70$ / 80€. When we look at Forspoken’s Steam page, we see that the price in Turkey is 699 TL. EGS announced the Turkish price for the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade by saying “prices starting from 699 TL”. Especially when you see that the prices of the Digital Deluxe Edition are 90 $ / 105 €, which again we see in Steam; de Forspoken Digital Deluxe Edition; we see a price of 919 TL – it sounds like “Gaming is a rich sport”. Moreover, the 2nd most advantageous price in the world applies to Turkey, which makes it even more tragic.
The main reason for this price change can be called equalizing PC prices with those applied for the next generation of consoles. Previously, Take-Two and Activision had made such pricing for their new generation of games, and Sony adopted this pricing in its games for ps5. Square Enix was the first to make the move to equalize console prices and PC prices; Let’s see which company(s) follow.
