Square Enix officially put on a show at the 25th anniversary broadcast of Final Fantasy 7, some expected and some surprise announcements to liven up our night. Finally, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 was shown with the first trailer, and we learned that the release date of the game is the next winter. Part 1 was first released for PlayStation 4, and Part 2’s first release platform will be PlayStation 5.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 is officially called Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Square Enix also said that this is the second game of the planned trilogy, so we now know exactly how many parts Final Fantasy 7 Remake consists of.
Tetsuyo Nomuro, creative director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, says that players can enjoy this sequel even if they don’t know the original game: “In fact, new players can even start their Final Fantasy VII adventures with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Cloud and his friends embark on a new adventure in this game, and the scenes they witnessed after leaving Midgar will give the actors a fresh and new experience.”
“I can’t wait to share what our goal was in naming the first game REMAKE and the second game REBIRTH. In time, I hope to reveal the name of the third game and where this journey will go,” says Nomuro.
Nomuro added that development work has started on the third game of the series and that they are progressing rapidly.
