GSC Game World has postponed S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl from its previously scheduled April 28 release date to December 8. The game will debut for PC via Xbox Series and Steam and the Epic Games Store. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
About the postponement, the team said: “We have decided to postpone the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl until December 8, 2022.
It required an additional amount of time to achieve what we wanted and get the game to the situation you wanted. So we’ve been giving ourselves an additional seven months. Stalker 2 is the largest project in GSC history. That’s why it requires extensive testing and control. We believe that development should take long enough, especially when it comes to such a project.
We didn’t make that decision easily. We do our best to deliver a game that meets expectations.
We will provide more information and updates in the coming period. We have an exciting and important year ahead of us. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
