Several Marvel and Star Wars series were announced at last year’s Disney+ investment day. In the Marvel part of the business, the dates are starting to become clearer, and we can more or less predict the future of the MCU. But there are a lot of cul-fits-all projects in the process, starting with Mandalorian for Star Wars. One of them is The Acolyte. When it was first announced, we learned that it would only take place in the late Days of the High Republic and that we would witness the rise of the Sith.
Of course, the fact that Darth Plagueis is alive during this period is a very interesting detail. Finally, when the concrete news about the show began to come in, we realized that we were close to hearing the story of Darth Plagueis. According to reports from various skiers, Disney wants Amandla Stenberg, who also starred in The Hunger Games, as the lead. Set in a period of so-called the fall of the Republic and the rise of the dark side, Stenberg will likely be a young Jedi or padawan. Because in all Star Wars business, light takes a bit of a side priority.

My expectations for this series go far beyond the concept of “hope” that Star Wars has brought to life. I think it’s a series worth waiting for, even if it’s a Sith mythology. The creative team doesn’t need to put its hand on cowardice, as it’s about 200 years before Skywalker Saga. There seems to be plenty of reason to be excited about Acolyte, considering that yoda, the real non-baby, is also alive as a Jedi.
