You know, one of Steam’s traditional discount periods is the Halloween Sale. This year’s campaign was held from October 28 to November 1; In general, it is both short-lived and the number of games on sale is less than during the Autumn and Winter Discount periods. So it’s not a discount period where we’re going to pour a lot of money.
Nevertheless, there are opportunities that can be evaluated, especially horror/thriller themed games. If you intend to take a few games out of the way until other discount periods arrive, perhaps you should consider buying some games that appeal to your liking during this campaign period. Let’s not go any further, let’s take a look at the list we have prepared for you:
Dying Light
While the wait for the sequel continues, there is a discount that can be considered for those who have not yet played the first game. Why the first game is loved, liked, why you are excited about the sequel, you can test it yourself. There is also a lot of additional content for the game. With Enhanced Edition, you can already have main content like Season Pass and The Following. But if you say, “No, I’ll take the whole package,” the Platinum Edition comes in at a discounted price of $49.50. I think both versions can be evaluated, so it’s up to you.
Blasphemous
Spanish gaming companies have come up with some pretty good surprises and successful games in recent years (I wouldn’t have mentioned Gris:)), so when I was making the list, I didn’t have to check the shore for a Spanish game in the corner:) Blasphemous is one of the games I can add without hesitation when making a list during the discount periods. It has a great visual design for me. The challenges are tough. His story is not a bad story either (subtexts, references, references should not be overlooked). What more could you want from a game like this? If you like this kind of game, Blasphemous is also a game worthy of your ๐
Mortal Kombat 11
Maybe it’s not directly in line with the Halloween theme, but it wouldn’t be a mention when you’ve seen such a price, and considering the level of violence in the game, it’s not far from the point:) There is no doubt that it is one of the best fighting games on the market. The price of the main game is down to $20.50, but I think it’s better to put some more on it and get a full package, enjoy a Mortal Kombat to the fullest, friendly ๐
Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered
Honestly, I didn’t think I was doing a risky job when I suggested this game. After all, its graphics are not quite suitable for the present day, and they have not come a long way compared to the original. This, of course, was the subject of criticism. But I still wanted to include it on the list, thinking it was a fun game and that it matched the theme well. Besides, with this discount, the price of which has reached a very reasonable level, it does not hurt to give it a try.
Darkest Dungeon
While the sequel was on the horizon, even early access, I wanted to invite those who hadn’t played the first game to the field. I’m not going to tell you any longer than we’ve put him on a lot of lists before. However, let me not forget his gothic air, the difficulty that made us dungeons, his characters who made us say, “Did they give you money?”, and the magic that allowed us to continue playing after all. If you can afford it, I say take the Ancestral Edition.
Resident Evil 7 Biohazard
There’s a discount on the last game of the series, of course, but it’s still priced high. Those who can’t budget for RE Village may want to return to the previous games of the series; Resident Evil 7 is a good choice for that. It’s already clear how good he is at scaring people, jumping out of his seat, but there’s one more detail that makes this game important. At the point where the story of the series began to be thought to have disintegrated, RE Village showed that this was not really the case, and RE7 was the first step in moving the story to a larger framework and connecting it to what seemed to be disintegrating. In this respect, it is one of the games that needs to be played.
By the way, if you haven’t played, there’s a nice discount on the Resident Evil 4/5/6 package; 38.80 TL with 79% discount, I think it is an opportunity that can be evaluated.
Little Nightmares
The heart would like to recommend game 2, but even the discounted price of the sequel remains a little high, as in the case of Resident Evil. But there’s no need to get too hung up on that, because the first game is good, it’s good. It is among the games that can be recommended with peace of mind with its puzzles and the tension it provides and its structure that manages to make itself play over and over again. Never mind the $2 difference, I say get the Complete Edition.
Pathologic 2
Don’t worry about the name of the game 2, it’s not a sequel. In a sense, it’s a remake of the first game. They got rid of some of the mistakes that were made the first time, improved by putting them on top, and ultimately a better game came out. There’s a mystery you’re trying to solve in a limited time (12 days in the game), and when you don’t make your moves carefully enough, you pay a lot of for it. Pathologic 2 is a game that makes you feel the tension and the struggle for survival intact, successfully immersing you in the atmosphere of this hopeless story.
The Sinking City
There have been a lot of Lovecraft-inspired games in recent years, and unfortunately these were far from the expected Lovecraft game (maybe Stygian can be excluded from them, I think it was a successful game, see ๐ our next game recommendation). The Sinking City didn’t perform very brightly in that respect either, but I don’t think it was a bad experience to be Sherlock Holmes on the ‘shores of madness’. And the price is reasonable. So I didn’t mind getting it on our list, so give it a shot.
Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones
Speaking of Lovecraft games, I can’t talk about Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones:) There aren’t many Lovecraft-themed RSOs, and there’s hardly any game that does it successfully. It is gratifying that such a game has come out of our country. It also has pleasant touches in its own way (archetypes, effects of character age, belief system, mental health, etc.). I think he deserves that price too.
