Stranger Things 3: The Game will be removed from Steam, GoG and the Epic Games Store later today (August 31). Until the game is removed, purchasers will continue to own and access it, but other than that, the possibility of purchase will disappear completely. The price of the game on Steam is 18.5 lira.
Although the reason for this removal has not been clearly stated, we can say that Netflix has a direct interest in adding games to its system. Netflix has said in recent months that games will be added to its streaming service, and recently began testing Stranger Things 3 and Stranger Things: 1984 in Poland. The chances of that being a coincidence are slim.
Netflix has announced that there will be no ads or in-game purchases for Stranger Things games offered through the app. But in this case, it will be as if the chances of accessing the games by those who do not subscribe to Netflix have completely disappeared, which is not a positive development.
The strange thing is that The Stranger Things 3: The Game Twitter account has also been deleted, and even the Stranger Things 3 page, which was launched by the game’s developer BonusXP, has also been blown away.
