Sumo Group has acquired Bristol-based studio Auroch Digital for £6 million ($8.32 million).
Auroch was founded in 2010 and is best known as the producers of Mars Horizon.
The acquisition has strengthened Sumo’s publishing capabilities and sees Auroch’s 48 employees as a complementary development team to support Sumo’s recently launched publishing division, The Secret Mode.
After the purchase, Auroch will retain its name. It will continue to be directed by founder and studio director Tomas Rawlings.
In addition, in July, Tencent announced its intention to buy Sumo in a deal worth £919 million ($1.27 billion).
