In its latest earnings reports, Take-Two said it had spent $53 million and canceled a game that had not been announced. Take-Two did not disclose any additional details. However, Bloomberg reported that the cancelled project was a superhero game codenamed Volt and was developed by Mafia 3’s studio Hangar 13.
The development process of the Volt first began in 2017 and the project had to be restarted many times. With the outbreak of the pandemic, the game was cancelled as a result. Volt would be a competitive online superhero game as well as being a brand new IP from Hangar 13.

Take-Two plans to release Olli Olli World this winter and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands in March 2022, according to the report. Take-Two will also release an independent version of GTA Online in March 2022.
Take-Two also announced sales figures for GTA and RDR, as well as current sales figures for borderlands franchises.
Borderlands 3 was first released on September 13, 2019, becoming the fastest selling 2K Games game to date. Borderlands 3 has sold about 14 million units on all platforms to date, according to the report.
GTA V sold over 155 million copies and Red Dead Redemption 2 sold over 39 million copies. The GTA franchise sold 355 million units and the Red Dead franchise sold about 62 million units worldwide.
