Take-Two strengthened its mobile games division and entered the football market with its acquisition of Nordeus.
The Serbia-based team, famous for its Top Eleven football management game, joined the company’s list of mobile-focused developers, which includes Socialpoint (acquired in 2017) and Playdots (acquired in 2020).
Take-Two will pay $225 million upfront. However, if certain thresholds are reached, the price could be raised to $378 million. Nordeus management, including CEO Branko Milutinovic, CCO Milan Jovovic, CTO Ivan Stojisavljevic and COO Tomislav Mihajlovic, will continue to run the studio, reporting to Nir Efrat, senior vice president and head of mobile devices at Milutinovic Take-Two.
Michael Worosz, take-two’s vice president, head of strategy and independent publication, said: “I first became aware of Nordeus in 2014. Top Eleven was following a good trend,” he explained.
