Take-Two Interactive said it was working on “refurbished versions” of three of its previously released games. We already knew that Take-Two, which owns studios such as Rockstar Games, 2K and Private Division, was working on ps5 and Xbox Series versions of Grand Theft Auto V and Kerbal Space Program2, as well as the standalone version of Grand Theft Auto Online.
Strauss Zelnick, the company’s CEO, said that “we don’t just port our games to different platforms, we spend time doing the best work to make the game look like a new game using the new technologies of that platform.” Mafia: Trilogy, released in May 2020, is one of the most important examples of this. The first game of the series was completely Remake and the other two were Remaster.
As for what these three “unexanounced” games might be, it is possible to make some predictions.
Earlier this year there were remake claims for Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas. Considering take-two recently had some of the Grand Theft Auto 3 modes turned off, there’s a good chance he’s preparing for this game(s). Considering it’s only been four or five years since Grand Theft Auto 6, it wouldn’t be a bad day to see a new GTA game, even if it’s old.
