As we wait for Tango Gameworks’ next game, GhostWire: Tokyo, the studio is already working on a new game.
Shinji Mikami, the studio’s founder; In a video featuring Phil Spencer at Microsoft’s Tokyo Game Show, he says they are working on a new game and that John Johanas, the director of The Evil Within 2, is involved in the project.
“Right now, John is working very energetically on a new game,” Mikami explained.
John Johanas has been involved in Tango Gameworks since 2010. Johanas was interested in visual effects designs for The Evil Within and later directed additional packages for the game; In the sequel, he took over the flag from Mikami and directed the play.
Phil Spencer’s question about young talent at Tango Gameworks mentions Johanas and another name, GhostWire: Tokyo director Kenji Kimura, Mikami. We all know another example, Ikumi Nakamura 🙂 Nakamura joined Tango Gameworks in 2010, won the audience’s hearts with his presentation Ghostwire: Tokyo in E3 in 2019, and decided to leave the studio and go his own way some time later. You see, Mikami performs well in bringing young talent into the gaming world.
I don’t know when the announcement will come about the new play, directed by Johanas. But before that we have a GhostWire: Tokyo that we’ve been waiting for; Let’s see if it’s worth the wait.
