The fashion of the last period is that gaming companies made an NFT announcement to look at the environment, and then backtracked on the intense reactions. While we experienced this in STALKER 2 in less time, it should come as no surprise to anyone that Team17 has the same ball and the same result.

Team17 announced Monday that it will create NFT’s based on the Worms series in collaboration with blockchain firm Reality Gaming Group, which will feature exclusive visuals inspired by the 26-year-old Worms series.

But the reaction came not only from the players, but also from the developers that Team17 broadcasts, some even explained that they would no longer work with Team17 as publishers, and that the NFT incident had nothing to do with them.

Last night Team17 issued a brief statement saying, “We are terminating the MetaWorms NFT project. We listened to our teammates, developer partners and player communities, understood their concerns and decided to step back from the NFT incident.”

We’ll see in the coming days if this attitude will improve their broken ties with some developers.
