Harada;s Bar’s latest episode, posted on YouTube, was hugely disappointing to those waiting for Tekken x Street Fighter because the caption of the video, which was posted in Japanese, said Tekken x Street Fighter had been cancelled.
Katsuhiro Harada, Japanese game producer, director and general manager of Bandai Namco Entertainment, clarified the issue and said it was a translation error.
Harada was said to have “not cancelled the game there, but stopped developing it, with approximately 30% of it completed. So this is the state of the project”.
Harada also said that Bandai Namco and Capcom really wanted to release this game, but they were waiting for the right time: “We have hope that tekken x Street Fighter will continue to be developed when the time is right. However, such a game does not only look at the convenience of one company in terms of marketing and brand, but also directly affects the development resources of the other company. Therefore, we expect favorable conditions to occur,” Harada said, setting out an uncertain timetable for the game’s release.
