FromSoftware’s parent company, Kadokawa Corporation, has announced that it has sold part of FromSoftware’s shares to Tencent Holdings’ subsidiary Sixjoy Hong Kong and Sony Group’s subsidiary Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Sixjoy Hong Kong will own 16.25 percent of FromSoftware’s shares, while Sony Interactive Entertainment will own 14.09 percent of FromSoftware. Kadokawa Corporation remains the company’s largest shareholder with a 69.66 percent stake.
Kadokawa Group continues to create content steadily in various segments, mainly in broadcast, video, gaming, web service and more. Its basic strategy is “technology and global media”.
FromSoftware stands out in the gaming industry and maintains its place in the agenda with world-famous works such as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring. Kadokawa Group, which wants to take an even more solid step into the gaming sector, states that it will continue its progress in this direction.
