The announcement of the new Overwatch 2 will be made next month. According to the information shared by Blizzard yesterday, the planned developments for the Overwatch 2 beta will be announced on June 16, 2022. The last update to the Overwatch 2closed beta came recently, and the closed beta of the game was completed yesterday. The closed beta of the game ended with some fixes that focused on the Mercy character.
New Overwatch 2 announcement coming next month
The common criticism of players who tried the Overwatch 2 beta was that the game felt like the “Overwatch add-on pack” and not the “Overwatch 2”. Although there were innovations in the game (especially the “PVE mode”), the opinion prevailed that the game was not a “full version”. Overwatch director Aaron Keller admits that this is because “content that is still in production is added to the beta” and asks for patience.
“Overwatch is a production that the production team as a world and a universe is personally committed to, pouring our passion, energy and creativity into it. Revealing something you love so much for other people to see can sometimes be creepy. Especially for content that you reveal to get criticism from players even though you know it’s not yet complete.”
There is no release date announced for Overwatch 2 yet, but the game is not expected to sag beyond 2023.
