When the third film of Guardians of the Galaxywas suspended for a while, MCU fans started campaigns from all four branches. Disney then backed down, and almost the entire team returned to the series, led by James Gunn. However, during this intervening period, James Gunn made The Suicide Squad for DC and there were some changes in his career. These changes were reflected in Guardians of the Galaxy; and he and Tyler Bates, the composer of the first two films, parted ways. James Gunn entrusted the soundtrack to John Murphy,who also worked with him on The Suicide Squad.
“We’re going to the final step by step,” he said in an interview with CinemaBlend. I talked to my team about how to do every scene. We’re going to start making this movie in May. When this is over, I’m going to listen to music written by John Murphy. I think I’m spoiling myself a little bit by having Murphy make guardians” music. and expressed that he was very happy with this new union. Explaining Murphy’s work in Suicide Squad with individual examples, Gunn also expressed admiration for the contribution of the film’s music to the atmosphere.
As James Gunn said, king shark’s aquarium scene, Ratcatcher 2 and Bloodsport; the iconic bus talk and the opening of the film were musically high quality. John Murphy, who planned all this, also bought himself an MCU ticket. We will say goodbye to the MCU’s most entertaining alien team with the third film coming out on May 5, 2023.
