There is a lot of interest in Stranger Things; creators Matt and Ross Duffers Brothers, who have taken the screens by storm with their fourth season. A huge deal was signed between Upside Down Pictures, co-founded by the two brothers, and Netflix. With the agreement, Upside Down has signed many new projects. These projects don’t just cover Netflix. The Duffer brothers are almost non-existent in their future plans. A wide range awaits us, from the theatrical play to the Stranger Things side series.
The new period Duffers projects, including Death Note’s bloody live series, are as follows;
- A new Death Note adaptation. The Duffer Brothers, who want to bring the legendary anime and manga series back to the screen, will ignore the 2017 Netflix movie adaptation. In the manga series, originally written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, an adolescent finds a mysterious black notebook and begins to control the balance between life and death. Naturally, there are those who pursue it after a while. We are eagerly awaiting the new adaptation of Death Note, which is very interesting in terms of subject matter and has big fans around the world.
- Dark Crystal: A new original series from Age of Resistance creators Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews.
- Stephen King and Peter Straub’s 1984 novel The Talisman will also be brought to the screen by the Duffers brothers. The series, which is produced by Amblin Entertainment, which is owned by Steven Spielberg, as well as Paramount Television, is quite interesting. The series will also feature Stranger Things co-writer Curtis Gwinn. In the tale of Talisman, we will witness the story of a young man who travels from New Hampshire to an alternative world. The journey of our main character, who will try to save his mother’s life in the region called The Territories, is also similar to Stranger Things.
- Stranger Things will have the same mythology and a new theater play in the world will also come from the hands of the Duffers brothers. Sonia Friedman, a UK-based stage producer, will produce Stephen Daldry and Netflix on the project. This next-generation theatrical play will emerge from the original idea of the Duffer Brothers and will be brought to life by 21 Laps production companies.
After these developments, the Duffer brothers secured their future for quite some time. On the other hand, the Netflix front is also very happy with these long-term deals. Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s co-CEO and chief content manager, said they were delighted to continue with the two brothers. Let’s see if the two like-minded brothers will be able to show the great success they have achieved with Stranger Things in their new projects.
