“May God give us the strength not to forgive those who have sinned against us.” The press release of the game begins with exactly this sentence. Polish developer The Dust has shared the first gameplay video of I, the Inquisitor, a game based on Polish author Jacek Piekara’s popular fantasy novel series.
The game is a mix of The Sinking City with The Plague Tale: Innocence, but it’s being tried on a game that tells a Witcher-like story during a dark renaissance. The game will be played from a 3rd person perspective, will be story-driven, will offer choices that blur moral lines, and supernatural forces will also come into play. A nice mix you will understand.
The game tells an alternate fantasy story set in the 1500s. This alternative was in the past, when Jesus was forced to perform the pilgrimage, but rather survived the pilgrimage and embarked on a bloody journey of revenge against those who did not believe in Him. Hundreds of years later, the bigoted Inquisitors became an army to enforce the faith of the bloodthirsty Church that had enslaved Europe. We will play one of those Inquisitors in the game.
