The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition will premiere on November 11. If you own Skyrim Special Edition on PC, you will also be able to upgrade your game to this new version for free. But before you do this, it is worth considering, since according to the developers of Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE), this new version will spoil compatibility with a large number of existing modes.
With the Anniversary Edition update, Bethesda has upgraded the compiler program it used to create the 64-bit version of Skyrim from Visual Studio 2015 to Visual Studio 2019. This will require mod makers to check and update their modes from start to finish to find functions and type hooks. Therefore, skse developer extrwi stated that the mod community will have significant problems for an indefinite period of time after the Anniversary Edition is released.
Modes such as hd texture pack, which only changes visuals, will probably work, while Modes such as Full Loop and new mechanics, items, etc. will be disrupted.
