The Final Fantasy XIV 6.2 patch will add the long-awaited Island Sanctuary region to the game. The island, which will be added to the game with a patch called Buried Memory, will be unique to each player, and players will be able to collect materials, build buildings and take care of animals on these islands.
The Final Fantasy XIV 6.2 patch will be released in August
In the regular “Letter from the Developer” publication of the producers of Final Fantasy, it is emphasized that Island Sanctuary is inspired by games such as Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, that it is a “comfortable activity that can be done alone” and does not require any in-game experience beforehand. The aforementioned Island Sanctuary system was actually announced last year.
The director of the game, Naoki Yoshida, gave the players details about the Island Sanctuary system:
“Within this new island, you’ll have a factory that you’ve built yourself, a field to plant, or animals to take care of. You can leave the island unattended and watch the weeds pervade the whole place. The decision is entirely up to you.”
There will be no details related to any mission or main story within the island. Players will also be able to invite friends to their own islands. The Final Fantasy 14 team had considered joining the NFT rush for a while, but gave up.
