The Game Awards reported that viewership for the 2021 show rose to 85 million, representing a 2% year-over-year increase compared to last year’s event.
The year-end broadcast was transferred to 30 digital networks worldwide. Twitch reached 3.35 million viewers across channels and co-streams.
It has been viewed more than 1.75 million hours on YouTube, a 14% increase over 2020.
Although exact figures have not been released, The Game Awards said audiences in China have seen double-digit growth in services such as Bilibili, DouYu, Huya and Tencent Video.
Looking at social media, it reported that the 1.6 million Tweets, the most since 2014, were related to the incident.
Finally, audience votes for the show rose 27% from last year to 23.2 million.
