There aren’t a lot of boss fights in The Last of Us Part 2, but the few bosses you’ll encounter can be quite difficult – here we explain how you can survive, in our guide.
The Last Of Us 2 requires you to pass both enemy people and deadly infected ones – but sometimes you have to fight. There are not many battles in The Last of Us Part 2 that can be considered “boss fights”, but when you reach them you will recognize them. On Day 2, you will be tested in one of the most difficult battles in the hospital, and you will have to change your approach to defeat it.
Read on for strategies to help you get through one of the toughest moments of The Last of Us Part 2: Seattle 2. You’re dealing with a boss in battle at the hospital in Ground Zero of the Day.
Boss Battle – Giant Infected
You’ll encounter this boss while exploring the hospital basement on ground zero mission. This thing is quite similar to a Bloater – it will hold you and if it can hold you it will kill you and it will be able to tear you down even through the walls to come after you. It can also throw explosive objects at you, so you need to be careful, but the biggest danger of the creature is that it continues to come for you. I mean, he’s always chasing you.
The area where the fight takes place is the real enemy here, you don’t have much space to run because it’s narrow. It is dark, making it difficult to detect doors, ledges, holes and windows, but it is important to stay away from the boss. Your most important goal is to keep your distance so that you can protect yourself, do some damage and produce items when you need them.
Usually the best way to deal with the boss is to find a point where there is a central column or object around which you can move, circle the boss with you. You may not do much damage during these sections, but you can stay out of danger and plan your next move. To kill the boss you will have to do a lot of damage, so focus on survival and, above all, managing the area; try to do some damage before it reaches you.
Go to high-damaged weapons for this fight: pipe bombs, shotguns (and firefighting rounds) and The Hunting Pistol will all work well, whereas you can use your other weapons when the ammo is low. Flamethrower also works, but its shorter range means you have to let the boss get close before using it, and it does not slow him down. If you need it, you will find a large number of gears scattered around the area, but usually make sure you have a lot of space to manoeuvre before you go, as it will take you to the corners.
Do enough damage and a smaller Stalker boss will get away from the big creature and force you to fight two creatures at once. Watch out for this guy, but don’t worry about causing him too much damage, if you hurt the big boss enough, you’ll win this part of the war. When he comes to force Stalker to leave, shoot him. Keeping the Shivs at hand makes it easier to get rid of.
Keep running and damaging until the big boss finally disappears. Stalker will find you in the morgue in the next part of the hospital and force you to kill. While the stalker is dangerous, it is not almost as deadly as the big boss, and that’s where your experience of fighting other versions of this enemy will come into play. Use the most powerful weapons you leave to throw away and, if necessary, try to escape to continue hiding and continue the battle according to your conditions. When the war is over, you’ll be able to go up to the closed garage.
