Both in the TGA 2021 elections and in the magazine’s Game of the Year debates, we all defended some games to the death, we said this game should get a definite award, we said I wouldn’t let this game get its due. We did. But then when you ask, “What game have you played the most this year?”
And once again, we’ve seen that everything that was in the past 🙂
Here are the most played games by The Playgezer authors in 2021:
Rocket League: If you’ve played a game for over 1,000 hours, it becomes a reflex to exist, to move freely. It always gives me peace of mind to find myself moving freely on the pitch in five-minute matches, even though I’m just hanging out without having to deal with the levels and ranks; That’s why it’s been a “it” game for me this year. – Ali
Guild Wars 2: Are you looking for a DVO where you can enter once a month and spend three to five hours, do not ask for a monthly fee, do not have a Pay 2 Win, have a beautiful story and world, constantly receive new updates but never lose value of the items on you? Then let’s take you this way. Moreover, you don’t have to spend a penny to play the basic game, contract the latest level of items and join PvP, what more? – Anton
Cyberpunk 2077: I’m in that group of veterans who play the game by gnawing at their fingernails and waiting for the release date and surviving cancellations and delays. In this process, where I turned my left cheek after being slapped on the right, of course I was able to get the job done and make sure that the game I played the most this year was Cyberpunk 2077. No, I’ve been V-too-many times with the motto of playing two and stepping aside. Even though I don’t look at it much now, I think it’ll be good for me to be v again some time. So much later… BELKI… – Aygen
Final Fantasy XIV: Considering I spent a third of this year avoiding screens and the rest of it squirming with my beloved son Leon, it was a miracle that there was such a thing as “the game I play the most”, but as soon as I got Endwalker out, it was so much fun to be able to play without spoilers, talking to friends about our theories. I’m going to look at Leon and write “Thanks to my mom” on the back of my level 90 character for giving me this opportunity. – Sign
Valorant: The biggest problem with competitive games on the market is that they can’t find the balance. MOBAs are life for you… However, although Valorant is a character-based game, it is balanced and available for gaming, making it the most screen time this year. The fact that it’s free is also a big factor, but let’s not go there at all… – Cevdet
Ghost of Tsushima: I buried more than 80 hours as a Japanese culture nut, Ghost of Tsushima. But while the variety of tasks at first made my mind, towards the end it became too easy to reconnect completely. Still, I couldn’t bear to leave it unfinished so there wouldn’t be 80 hours of garbage. Anyone who says a long game is a good game is my enemy after this time. – Emre S.
Final Fantasy XIV: This has been a year where I’ve largely overhauled my beloved Final Fantasy complex thanks to pixel remasters. (I’ve finished nine Final Fantasy games in total this year) But of all them, it was Final Fantasy XIV that I was most happy to hand over my time to. I’ve missed playing quality DVO that doesn’t fool its players, entertains them while they play, and consoles them with its amazing story… – Can
Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla: Brother, this game doesn’t end, it doesn’t end, Valhalla is waiting for us, but it doesn’t stop! I don’t think a Viking brother in the passing of the game has ever had so many adventures. But it doesn’t stop because of your greed to “explore everywhere.” I buried it for close to 100 hours this year alone, and the new Monster Hunter game came out, so even he couldn’t compete, so I’m hoping one day it’ll be over… – Eren E.
Dark Souls 2: Those of you who play the Souls series will immediately agree with me that dark souls 2 has the most time-timed, most planned, challenging achievements in the trilogy. In Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, it’s not enough that I’ve achieved Dark Souls in 140 hours, which I’ve decided to do in the old version. I’ve only gone 15 hours at NG++ with the Sunlight Medal farm, and I need to drop 10 more Medals. Now you understand the rest. (Update: This also took 140 hours but finished) – Work
Gladius: Relics of War: The most important factor that plays a game online is surely the conversation you have with the friends you play that game with during and after the game. Last year, the game I would play the most with 5 W40K-loving friends like me was Gladius: Relics of War, which we can call the Civilization of the W40K universe. -Goker
Stardew Valley: That game I went into to distract as I got stressed is Stardew Valley for me. The fact that I played so much last year makes me know what a stressful year I’ve had, so let’s not get into the time job. I’ve set up very pastel-colored, very sweet modes. Therapy is expensive, Stardew Valley is 24 pounds. – Gulhis
Final Fantasy XIV: Wow, I thought I’d start to satisfy the MMORPG hunger that’s left, it’s not mornings, I’m not only hungry, I’m a little oversaturated, but I can’t let go, and it’s something like that. – Silk
Yakuza Like A Dragon: I’ve actually spent three-figure amounts of time on a lot of different games over the years. But at the end of the year, yakuza like a dragon got the most play share; After all, I couldn’t expect anything else from someone who was desperate for Yakuza games:) After a character like Kazuma Kiryu, who I’ve embraced a lot, I was worried about whether Ichiban Kasuga would keep our frequency, but thanks to him, he didn’t have any problems with it; It’s been an absurd, intriguing adventure for me. Of course, we did not miss the visit to the artisan restaurant and arcade. I’m already counting down to the adventures ahead with Ichiban. – Vast
Horizon: Zero Dawn: Even though aloy and I met very late, he didn’t mind me accompanying him for dozens of hours in post-apocalyptic lands, thank you. And a long time later, a game managed to stay in my mind, even though it was a long time after it ended. Both lore and gameplay. Wonderful! – Ihsan A.
Warlock: Master of Arcane: If there’s one game that gives me the urge to “one more round” after Heroes 3 in an equally addictive way, that’s it. It takes civilization’s urban-building mechanics and blends them so beautifully with spells, wars and fantastical races that I’ve been playing intermittently for nine years. – M. Ihsan
Imperator: Rome: Even though it was abandoned to its fate by Paradox, I still can’t get enough of the ancient world. Thanks to invictus mode, imperator gets better with the years. What did they say, Rome Invicta! – Happy
Football Manager ’21: Under normal circumstances, I spend extra hours with Football Manager every year. However, with the CM01/02 patch coming out to FM 21 this year, I spent less time in non-FM life than FM. – Oguz
Red Dead Redemption 2: I played this game on the console, then when he first came to PC, I played it again on Rockstar Launcher. This year I craved it again, playing again to add it to my list of “all my achievements” on Steam. After 220 hours, I finally opened all my achievements, again it was very enjoyable. – Honor
Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Special Edition: I haven’t met Skyrim in many years, like Nasreddin Hodja saying, “Flour was found in the house for halva.” But in 2021, I covered up this shame and found myself swimming for dozens of hours in the giant lore of Elder Scrolls. We’re not done yet. What they said, Skyrim is not left, it is just a break (they may not have said it). – Mert K.
Total War: Warhammer II: Before this year I had a total of 200 hours in TWWs, this year I added another 800 hours to it (the way I th ventaled myself that there would be 3). It’s been the most game I’ve ever played in my life. When the body wanted a “familiar but different” game, it became the address I went to. However, there is a ton of factions waiting to be played, a ton of strategies to learn, offering different gameplay. I’m taking my hat off to the depths. – Omar
Monster Hunter World: I played 100-odd hours when the game first came out in 2018, yes. But this year I dived again saying I didn’t look at Iceborne, diving that dive. I’m shamelessly planning to play on pc for the third time. I can’t get enough of it. – Sabri
Hades: I’d suggest it’s much more affordable to wrap it around what I couldn’t play from the year before than chasing new ones every year. Thanks to Hades, he’ll take me two more years anyway. What pact should I try to escape now? – Tariq
Doom Eternal: When I fall in love with a game, I’m one of those people who’s in love. I’m going to have to take your pearl off. Just as I can play the entire Half-Life series in my head, I should be able to play DOOM Eternal at that level. Reason? Because this game deserves this love, dear Gamers. And in 2021, I spent a hell of a time carving Ancient Gods plugins into my brain. I’ve got another ultra-nightmare adventure coming up soon. If anyone likes FPS and doesn’t play DOOM Eternal, it’s shameful… – Yasin
F1 2021: As angry as we are, I can’t help but say that “that village is our village”, when it comes to F1. I’d say I’ve enjoyed the hundreds of hours I spent earlier this year. Forza Horizon 5, which made a quick exit from the pits on the last straight of the year, rocked quite a bit, but the summit went to F1 2021 in my own world. – Mert G.
