The Pokémon Company, known for its Pokémon games, reportedly had a record fiscal year. According to Gamebiz.jp site, The Pokémon Company generated annual sales of $1.6 billion and made a net profit of $322 million from those sales.
According to Dr Serkan Toto, independent gaming industry consultant at Kantan Games, these figures represent a record financial year for the company. Accordingly, Serkan Toto states that the Pokémon Company has a net profit of 123 percent per year.
The company’s annual financial results cover the period up to the end of February 2022. This means that the sales of Pokémon products released within 12 months are taken into account. These sales include newly released games. These games include Pokémon Snap, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus became the fastest-selling Pokémon game on Switch consoles, selling 6.5 million units in its first week of release. The Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl sold six million units in the first week.
As of the end of March 2022, Pokémon Legends has sold 12.64 million units. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl sold 14.65 million units.
