The Settlers, which first appeared in front of players in 1993, started the series with the mechanics of strategy and construction, and in the following years we also encountered sequels. Ubisoft announced the new game in the series, which continues to evolve with additional packages and side games except for 7 main games. The game, called The Settlers, will be released for PC on March 17 and will give the series a fresh start. Ubisoft’s statement on the subject and information about the game are as follows;
The Settlers will be released on March 17
Ubisoft has announced the much-anticipated return of The Settlers, a real-time strategy (RTS) game in which players must settle on new land, raise funds to build their communities, hire other civilians (or engineers), and build their military units to protect and defend their new settlement.
The Settlers will be released on Windows PC on March 17 and are now available for pre-order on Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store. In addition, players can participate in the Closed Beta, which begins on January 20th.
Developed by Ubisoft Düsseldorf, The Settlers returns as a reboot inspired by two of the most popular games in the series, The Settlers 3 and The Settlers 4. Players can expect a refreshed look in the new The Settlers, built from scratch using Ubisoft’s proprietary Snowdrop Engine game engine, because The Settlers raises the visual bar for the RTS game genre. Both old and new players will experience lush and colorful environmental bioms as well as modernized gamery. Players can enjoy The Settlers in three different game modes: single-player story, Onslaught and Skirmish (solo against AI, co-op against AI, or PvP up to eight players).
In The Settlers,the people of Elari (one of the groups in the game) are forced to flee their homeland and settle in new, unknown territory. Embark on an adventure where these migrants will face different challenges on their journeys with other locals. The Settlers has a total of three playable groups, each with a unique look, gameplay, and related background story.
When The Settlers comes out, it will be available in three versions:
- Standard Version: Main game.
- Entdecker Edition (GSA Retail Edition): Main game, other physical items, and digital unlockables.
- Luxury Edition: Main game, luxury package and other digital items.
Players participating in the upcoming Closed Beta can experience: Training mode, two playable groups, and two Skirmish modes (1v1 and 2v2). Players will be able to play the Closed Beta from January 20th to 24th on both the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect without time restrictions. The Closed Beta preinstallation will begin on January 18.
