New details keep coming in for the remake of the original The Witcher, which was announced last month by streamer CD Projekt RED and developer Fool’s Theory. Among the current information is that the remake version will debut after The Witcher 4, which is under development.
The remake version comes after the 4th game
During a recent financial interview, the CD Projekt Red team confirmed that the remake of The Witcher will be released after the release of The Witcher 4, which currently does not have a release date. The team was asked when and in what order future games, including The Witcher Remake, would debut. In response to this question, CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kicinski said: “The Witcher Remake will debut after The Witcher 4.”
The Witcher Remake and The Witcher 4 are being developed with Unreal Engine 5
The Witcher Remake is being developed with Unreal Engine 5. The remake is currently being done with the Fool’s Theory team, which includes people who have previously worked on The Witcher series. The remake is still in the early stages of development.
On the other hand, The Witcher 4 is likewise developed with the Unreal Engine 5 game engine. This is one of the elements that reveal the technical development and future potential of Unreal Engine 5. It also marks the beginning of a multi-year strategic partnership with Epic Games. CD Projekt RED strives to adapt UE5 to the open-world experience. In doing so, Epic Games is working closely with its developers.
