Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard confirmed the play in a way, saying Fallout 5 was part of the studio’s long-term plans.
But hearing the name Fallout 5 doesn’t immediately create anticipation, because Howard is “a long-term man.” Then he’s not lying. First Starfield comes out, then The Elder Scrolls 6 comes out, then fallout 5.
If Starfield’s release date came out on November 11, 2022, two or three years after that in Elder Scrolls 6, it’s clear that we have a very, very long wait ahead of us for Fallout 5.
Asked if there was any chance of handing Fallout 5 over to outside studios, Howard said, “I don’t think so. Fallout is really part of our DNA,” he says, but he doesn’t rule it out alt-out. “We’ve worked with others from time to time, I can’t tell you what’s going to happen now,” he added.
