Crystal Dynamics, the team behind Tomb Raider and Marvel’s Avengers games and a studio owned by Square Enix, announced a new partnership for Perfect Dark, the new game from The Initiative, a Microsoft-owned studio. With this new partnership between The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics, the two studios will work together.
Tomb Raider team to develop Xbox exclusive game Perfect Dark
On Twitter,he wrote, “Perfect Dark update! With Crystal Dynamics, a world-class team behind character-driven games like Tomb Raider, we are partnering to bring this first-person spy-thriller to a new generation.”
Xbox’s The Initiative team is a new studio based in Los Angeles. The studio, which has yet to release any games, is directed by Darrell Gallagher, who worked on the Tomb Raider series and spent a decade at Crystal Dynamics. Daniel Neuburger of The Initiative has previously worked at Crystal Dynamics. The studio also has some older talent from BioWare, Sony Santa Monica, Blizzard and more famous studios.
