Tony Hawk announced plans Wednesday to build “the largest skating park in the Metaverse” in partnership with the virtual world and NFT platform The Sandbox. Tony Hawk Land will be featured as a new space in The Sandbox, which is partly called a virtual world and partly an amusement park.

Thanks to The Sandbox platform, players will experience the Metaverse

Built on the Etherium blockchain, it allows users to exchange cryptocurrencies for access to virtual land parcels and earn money by exchanging in-game items as NFTs. If you ask “What is The Sandbox?”, the website says, “Sandbox is a community-driven platform where creators can monetize their assets and gaming experiences on the blockchain.”

In the video, Tony Hawk says, “Guys, I’m Tony Hawk and I’m building the biggest skating park in the Metaverse, I’ll see you in the Sandbox.”

Tony Hawk will have his own NFT avatar. This and many other iconic skateboards, gear and clothing will be created by the Autograph platform. The sandbox will then make the tokens interoperable in its own metadatabase. In this way, it will be able to create custom experiences for users.
