The Firesprite studio, which PlayStation recently acquired and incorporated, turned out to be the studio where twisted metal reboot was acquired from Lucid Games.
Development of Twisted Metal was received earlier this week from Destruction All Stars studio Lucid Games, VGC reported.
Lucid and Firesprite’s offices are extremely close together, both in Liverpool; and the distance between them is about 15 minutes. Which raises the question of whether there’s a transfer between the two studios, which one Resetera user noticed, matt southern, the director of various Motorstorm games, stepped down as lucid’s play director last month and joined Firesprite.
Southern was probably working on Twisted Metal when lucid was in it, so we don’t know if he’s continuing in his role. Firesprite is currently working on multiple projects, including the newly announced Horizon Call of the Mountain for PlayStation VR2.
We’re looking forward to twisted metal’s fate.
